2nd Place: V-Day: haikouiDISCLAIMER: Hey, non-Royai people! Don't read this fanfic: it is an entry into the royai4ever contest for Valentines day. Sorry!
Colonel Roy Mustang was late to work today, as usual.
Havoc smirked at him when Roy came in an hour after work officially started. Breda was quietly sneaking through Havoc's papers for some letters from 'fangirls.' Falman was working on his paperwork, as usual, and Fuery was feeding Black Hayate a piece of well-brothed chicken.
Riza was seated at her desk, overlooking a report that Edward had given her to read over because the colonel wasn't there yet. When Roy entered, her head snapped up and stared at him. She jumped up into an automatic salute. "Good morning, sir." Her right hand covered one of her copper eyes just barely. Roy could see the corners of her lips shirking up to a small smile. He grinned back, "Good morning, Hawkeye."
They both knew he wanted to say something different.
She walked over quietly to him, ignoring the fact that Havoc and Br

"Alright then guys I should be heading back to my post now that I have destroyed the gate. I hope to see you all soon." General Mustang said as he turned and began to walk away.
"Wait General, does that mean you're going back to that outpost, not staying here even though you saved us?" Lutenint Havoc asked, confused.
"I plan to do all that I can for my own country in my own way. End of disscussion. I've told you that before right?"
"Yes, sir" The Lutenint replied. All of this, however did not sit well with one person, one certian 1st Lutenint, none other than the sharpshooter, Riza Hawkeye.
"Sir you just came back and helped us tremendously, destroyed the gate, saw your old friends again, and you still want to go back to your old positition?" She questioned, more confused than Havoc was 3 minutes ago.
"What did I say Lutenint, what did I say?" Mustang replied.

'Good' the blonde thought, 'that little sleeping poison did work.' She ran down the corridor to where the winter coats were stored.
"Now where is it?" She mumbled to herself. The lutenint found what she was looking for after 5 min. of searching. 'Here it is, Havocs' coat.' She felt the pockects and pulled out a piece of paper. It was a map to a certian outpost in North Amestris. The outpost of a certian ex-general, Roy Mustang.
'If I plan it out right, I can probably get there when he is asleep.' She thought. 'I have to be careful though, if I am caught without a proper pass outta here, i'm dead.' But she disregarded her thoughts,
"Hang on Roy, i'm coming." She wispered as she ran down the corridor, and out to her car. She started it up, gonig home quickly to get money and Black Hayate, to haul a couple of supplies. She went the train sataion, and after some negotiation Hayate was allowed on. Afte
Let the Sparrows InI.
Blackbirds rest on the power lines,
their silhouettes form the notation
to a dawn song set on the sheet music
of telephone poles contrasted by the sun.
Curled leaves are land mines littered
on the lawn where imprints of twigs
and a nurturing robin's tracks collect.
Branchlets and leaflets stem from
porch step railings and mailboxes;
the numbers read odd on the east,
even on the west side of the asphalt:
The engraved letters on
the siding reads, "Davis."
This house is home to family
